It’s Not You, It’s Definitely Me [it usually is] is a work about the void between the digital and the real, and how that void is so often filled with negative emotions. Each character around the firepit represents a self hate; the bodily hate, the procrastinational hate, the instant-gratification-from-sex hate, the ghosted hate and the delusional dreaming hate. They have come to this campfire to resolve their issues, see that they are not alone and eventually take each other’s hands to reconcile and sing Kumbaya.
